The all-new
Xplorer 4x4 is the most affordable full-size 4x4 ATV on the market.
It has the all-wheel drive intelligent On-Demand true 4-wheel
drive.
The Polaris 4WD system is activated by a handlebar-mounted
on/off switch. The intelligent On-Demand true 4-wheel drive system
senses when the rear wheels start to lose traction, then instantly
and automatically engages both front wheels with full torque.
It’s suited for light work, trail riding, and hunting.
The
new Xplorer 4x4 has the Polaris 250 2-stroke, air-cooled,
oil-injected engine, and its power is managed by the dual-sensing,
automatic PVT (Polaris Variable Transmission), which responds to
both engine RPM and vehicle torque load. The power is delivered to
the wheels via the Polaris Concentric Drive System (CDS), which
aligns the swing arm’s pivot point with the center of the
drive sprocket.
The rear suspension is not affected by engine
torque, resulting in a highly efficient delivery of power to the
wheels.
The CDS also maintains a consistent chain tension at all
times, reducing chain wear and decreasing the need for chain
adjustment or maintenance.
The Xplorer 4x4 rear suspension has a
2-inch gas-charged shock with 9 inches of travel. The MacPherson
strut independent front suspension has 6.7 inches of travel and
gives the Xplorer 4x4 a turning radius of just 60 inches.
Polaris
single-lever hydraulic disc brakes and a hydraulic auxiliary foot
brake provide consistent, reliable braking, and the E-Z Shift lets
a ride switch easily between high or low gear range, or reverse.
Full floorboards with integrated footpegs are standard, as are
sturdy front and rear cargo racks, a dual-beam 60-watt headlight
and a brake light, and a 4-gallon fuel
tank.
