As many owners of the latest wave of Chinese ATVs can attest, these machines were designed to be an inexpensive means for recreational enthusiasts to become acquainted with the sport of four-wheeling. The vast majority of these quads are actually pretty decent quality ATVs with designs borrowed from their well recognized Japanese cousins. But at nearly a third the price, there's some differences to be expected. One area that all of these machines are lacking is suspension. While they're not expected to have competition ready shocks, it's almost inexcusable for the suspensions on these machines to be so stiff that a grown man to barely coax 1/2" of travel from them. For a young kid at traveling down a semi-rugged trail, it'd be just as well it had no suspension at all. Uncomfortable, fatiguing, and even dangerous. Enter JetMoto USA. Recognizing this deficiency and eager to improve a machine that's already pretty decent, they took on the task of designing a real suspension from front to back. They specifically dealt with two aspects: widening, and compliance.
On the compliance side of things, a new set of shocks go all the way around. And not just cheap, over sprung shocks, but oil-filled piggy-back reservoir type quality pieces. Good shocks cost a premium and although these might not be considered race-suitable, they are a hands-down improvement over the stockers. After taking a ride on our newly outfitted Jetmoto 110, our test pilot wouldn't even ride the stocker. Jumps can now be taken with confidence knowing that the landing won't buck you over the bars. And bicycling around turns is history, as the new wider stance keeps the quad planted and flat around turns. Jetmoto's kit comes complete with three shocks, tierods, a-arms, steering stem extender (to eliminate bump steer), and a set of spacers. This kit will work on virtually any 110 or 200cc quad made by Jetmoto, Yamoto, Redcat, or Kazuma. At a price of under $400, it's a steal, and with this upgrade your Chinese ATV can take a huge stride in closing the gap towards the Japanese big-four. For more info, contact www.jetmotousa.com.
