Yadkinville, NC (September 23, 2009) - Rockstar Makita Suzuki could tie up the 2009 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series Championship this weekend at the Moose Racing Yadkin Valley Stomp in Yadkinville, N.C. In order for Borich to clinch the championship this weekend, Yamaha's Taylor Kiser will have to finish third or worse and Borich will have to take the win, which would make him the first person since 1999 besides Bill Ballance to win the championship.

Factory Yamaha's Ballance had surgery just weeks before the season started and had some rough races before he got back on the podium. Ballance climbed from the back of the pack all the way to fourth in the point standings, but time is running out on his incredible run of nine-straight GNCC Championships.

Borich has long been in the running to win the championship and was Ballance's main competition year after year, but the last four rounds have always presented a problem for him. But Borich was strong at the last race at Unadilla and now sits 53 points ahead of Kiser. If Borich succeeds, he will also give Suzuki their first GNCC ATV Championship.

FRE KTM's Adam McGill, Ballance, Yamaha's Brandon Sommers and Houser Racing's Bryan Cook are the hard charging pack that will battle behind Borich as he makes history. The four are only a handful of points apart from each other, and if they unseat Kiser on the podium, they will help Borich in taking home the championship.

Yamaha's Donnie Ockerman, Jarrod McClure, Duane Johnson and Yamaha's Johnny Gallagher round out the rest of the top 10 heading into the Yadkin Stomp.

In XC2 Pro-Am, Brian Wolf is still at the top after his win at Unadilla, extending his lead over Josh Kirkland.

ATVs race on Saturday in Yadkinville, a tight, twisting track featuring two famous obstacles: "The Creek Jump," which launches riders over water; and the "The Tunnel," where riders wade through a culvert pipe filled with seat-deep water. The pro bike race runs for three hours and begins at 1 p.m.

To get to the track: I-77 to Exit 73A to Highway 421 South. Go 10 miles to Exit 256, Unifi Industrial Road. Turn left, go 1.2 miles to end of road. Turn right on old US-421. Go 2/10 mile, turn left on Myers Rd. Go 1 mile, race track is on left.
