Last month you were regaled with tales of Galmis by the legendary Mr.Dune. This month I bring a photo journal of the Presidents day event at Dumont. As expected thousands of people were on hand. At night from one of the taller dunes it looked like a small city. The weather was unusual to say the least and the weekend was over-cast. It rained late Saturday and Sunday night but all in all the weather cooperated. The Jeep club as well as the sand drag dudes were out in full force and offered plenty to watch. The action at comp hill was fast and furious and the racing went well into the early morning hours. No shortage of really fast quads and sand rails to entertain and amaze the onlookers at the base of comp.

This was the maiden trip for my new motor home and all went well. Its is the only way to go! One thing of note was that there was plenty of RV's on hand and with the natural combination of sand sports and RVing more and more off-roaders will be going in style! It used to be that it was not worth the hassle to drag the whole family with you to your favorite ATV area. No shower, no bathroom, too dusty, too hot or too cold! Not any more. The RV movement is gaining momentum and is here to stay!

The dunes are a favorite with the younger crowed no doubt but more and more familys are going out for the big weekends and this was no exception. The good news is that the selection of kid size ATV's is growing. Mom and Dad now have a safe way to have the little ones join in the fun.


For the most part it appears that parents are being responsible and equipping the kids with all the required safety gear! With good examples like these our sport will only grow and get better!
