Arreche Mini-Quad Carburetor

For those looking for an inexpensive, quality carburetor, European carburetor manufacturer Arreche may just have what you're looking for.  As you may already know, scooter racing in Europe is big, and their engines are not coincidentally very similar to the typical mini-quad engine. The U.S. mini-quad racing scene benefits by inheriting all kinds of goodies designed by mini-motored, knee draggin' scooter racers from the other side of the pond. Over the years these European companies have spent considerable effort developing and producing parts from cylinders to carbs to clutches. One such company is Arreche (Ah-RETCH-ee).

Not to be confused with the plethora of low-cost hardware coming from China and Tiawan, Arreche is a Spanish company that's been in the carb business for over 50 years and has the European equivalent of an ISO 9002 quality seal of approval. The Arreche carb is a nice looking piece and comes as a drop in replacement for virtually any configuration of mini-quad for which you may need a carb.

Kits come with carb, intake manifold, and cable, with several filter options available. Carbs can be ordered in one of four sizes: 17, 19, 21, and 24mm. Pricing from MHR-USA starts as low as $101.50 for the 17mm size, up to $181.50 for the 24. Jets are Mikuni style and can either be purchased from MHR or in a pinch from your local Kawasaki, Suzuki, or other Mikuni carb equipped bike shop (although the jet size numbering systems are different).

Our kit went on without a hitch. Several jets were supplied with our shipment and jetting went very quickly thanks to the main jet access in the bottom of the float bowl. The stock cable will work although MHR has cables available if it doesn't happen to fit just right. Chokes come in various configurations: lever style, cable w/ handlebar pull knob, and even auto/electric choke. And for those that really want a no fuss installation, the carbs even have a port for the stock oil injection (if you want to remove it, check out this article).

Of particular interest may be the fact that with a custom "top-mount" intake manifold, this carb will fit neatly under the seat of most mini-quads (shown in the picture on a Kasea). There's plenty of clearance between the air filter and exhaust, and the throttle cable just fits under the seat. For riding where water and/or mud is an issue, this is definitely the hot ticket.
