The
Xpedition 425 4x4 combines a powerful Polaris 425 engine with the
Shaft Ride System, intelligent On-Demand true 4-wheel drive, and a
5-speed manual transmission, with automatic clutch and E-Z Shift
reverse. The first Polaris model to utilize a manual transmission,
the Xpedition 425 4x4 is idea for heavy work, trail riding, and
hunting. Power is supplied by the Polaris 425 4-valve, 4-stroke,
liquid-cooled engine, which results in more-even fuel distribution
and a high-efficiency fuel burn.
The Polaris 5-speed manual
transmission offers manual gear selection with an automatic clutch.
A unique stepped floorboard design positions the toe of a
rider’s boot under the shift lever, yet keeps his heel
slightly higher for comfort and balance.
Polaris-exclusive E-Z
Shift Reverse lets a rider shift into reverse quickly and easily.
When conditions call for additional traction, a rider uses a
handlebar switch to activate the intelligent On-Demand 4-wheel
drive system. The Polaris 4-wheel drive system senses when the rear
wheels start to lose traction, and instantly and automatically
engages both front wheels with full torque using shaft drive. The
long-travel, progressive rate swing arm rear suspension has a
2-inch, gas-charged Bilstein® shock with traction line mount.
The suspension provides 6.5 inches of travel for a smooth ride and
better handling. The Xpedition 425 4x4 has tight-turning,
long-travel (6.7 inches) MacPherson strut front suspension and a
turning radius of 65 inches. Reliable, consistent braking is
provided by the single-lever, all-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and
auxiliary hydraulic foot brake. An electronic speedometer with a
digital hour meter and odometer/tripmeter offers readouts in both
miles and kilometers.
The Xpedition 425’s full floorboards
and front and rear cargo racks are made of a durable composite
material.
It also has two grille-mounted headlights, a brake light,
electric start, tow hitch, adjustable handlebars, a tool kit, and a
4-gallon fuel tank. |
