Vegas to Reno October 6, 7 & 8,
2005 The fourth race in the BITD Silver State Series
is the notorious Vegas to Reno , a 500 plus mile race starting in
Las Vegas , NV and ending in Reno , NV . To date, there are only 29
quads pre-entered in the race, down from the 48 entries at the
Parker 250, the first race of the year. Entries are slowly
dwindling as the season progresses, a trend we see every year when
quad teams drop out due to low class point scores. However, we
could end up seeing a lot of last minute entries at Contingency on
Thursday. Pro Class top five teams are neck and neck in
series points going into this race: 1 st : Jimmy Stephensen 216 pts. 2 nd : Wayne Matlock 212 pts. 3 rd : Josh Frederick 209 pts. 4 th : Greg Row 209 pts. 5 th : Shaun Moore 207 pts. The Sportsman Class (a combo of the Experts and
Amateurs) top five teams in the series so far are: 1 st : David McCarroll 245 pts. 2 nd : Brett Callen 239 pts. 3 rd : Mike Powada 225 pts. 4 th : Eric Pealstrom 218 pts. 5 th : Richard Youngblood 214 pts. The results of the Nevada 1000 put a lot of top
contenders out of the running for the series class championship,
with a whopping 131pts awarded to the first place Expert, Gregory
Price; and a 125pts to first place Pro, Wayne Matlock. A similar
point system has been used in the past for Vegas to Reno , with
teams getting a huge 30 point bonus just for crossing the finish
line. Having two major events like Nevada 1000 and a
Vegas to Reno in the same race season is keeping us all guessing
who will be the 2005 Champions! I'll be updating you with all the news from
Contingency Row at the Gold Coast Casino in sunny Las Vegas , so
keep checking back here for the latest details. ~ Tina Pedersen Talk ATV Racing: ATV Racing Message Board
