Club Bombardier 2003 "Follow No One

Feb. 01, 2002 By Eddie Perez
Wow! Just when you think they can't get any more extreme, Bombardier unveiled their newest prototype ATV, the Outlander, at this year's Club Bombardier. With the launch of the new Outlander, Bombardier's plans are to "Follow No One". For those of you that have seen the photos of the new Rally 200 , get ready for something even more radical - Bombardier's new Outlander is in the works and should be available by year's end. The new Outlander is Bombardier's latest surge into the ATV market. While ATV's normally do not change much from year-to-year, the new Rally and now the Outlander are poised to turn the ATV world upside down. You will not see a "New graphics design for 2003" on these ATV's - they're totally new and completely different. The Outlander will target the Mid-sized ATV market and is designed to be the trail riding ATV to have. The Outlander has a second-generation Rotax 4-Tec, liquid-cooled, 400cc engine, an automatic tranny and integrated engine braking. For those ATV riders out there that want flexibility, the Outlander will give the rider the option of 2 or 4 wheel drive at the push of a button. The Outlander will weigh in under 600 pounds, due in part, to the Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) frame that was also used on the Rally, and the integrated rack/storage compartments. The big news on the Outlander (besides the radical new look) is the fully-independent rear suspension and disc brakes all around. More information on the Outlander will become available as the year progresses. Be sure to check back often for the latest news.....
