Although the battle for qualifying positions in Saturday’s Mint 400 race were already determined earlier yesterday, other competitions related to the off-road desert race were still left to be decided on Freemont Street in Downtown Las Vegas.

The Miss Mint 400 competition was trimmed down to six finalists.

After weeks of online voting, Amy Scott of Solana Beach, California, was crowned the 2015 Miss Mint from the six finalists. Scott will join the list of former Miss Mint winners that include “Wheel of Fortune” start Vanna White and “Wonder Woman” Lynda Carter. Aside from earning a check for $5,000, Scott is also awarded a $10,000 photo shoot and will be the featured guest at multiple Mint 400 promotional events throughout the year.

Steve Olliges and team earned the KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge.

The crowning of Miss Mint wasn’t the only action on Freemont Street, however, as the finals for the KMC Wheel Pit Crew Challenge Presented by Mystik Lubricants. A total of 14 Class 1500 and Trick Truck teams battled to post the fastest time in head-to-head battles. In the final for the trucks, Steve Strobel’s team appeared to have the win in hand, but a loose lug nut cost them 10 seconds and the eventual win, giving the victory to the  Steve Olliges’ team who would take home prices from Fox Shox, Impact Safety, KMC Wheels, Mystic Lubricants, and 212 Performance Gloves.
