Sports in the Rough brings ProROCK to Cedar City Utah this weekend. Tech inspection and check were held today at Parkway Motors on Main Street. My father, Jack Geiger, and I took advantage of the great weather and rode our street bikes out from Californian. I brought my Goldwing and Jack brought his ST1100. Also in the photo to the right is one of several BMW dual sport bikes that ProROCK staff use to in and around the event. We arrived at Noon on Friday for the start of tech inspection. As of later afternoon, 13 rigs have completed the check in and are ready to compete. More are expected to arrive Saturday Morning. The competitor turn out is just about even between the three classes of rigs (Trophy Class, Super Stock Class  and Modified Stock Class). This afternoon a fast moving thunder storm dropped a quick splash of rain. Idea for dust control! This weekend the forecast is for clear skies and 80 degrees temps both Saturday and Sunday.

The "On Track Krawler Team" was on hand with it's two Suzuki Samurai's (above & right). Driver Dean Bulloch is currently sitting in first place in the Super Stock class.

One of the reasons ProROCK events are so well attended is the weeks of marketing before each event. We saw lots of signs posted in store windows. The photo to the right is the first one we saw while stopped in Mesquite Nevada.

In their first time in competition, Matt Cason and Troy Antill (above) will both be driving their own Suzuki Samurai's. Matt and Troy will both be spotting and both will be driving at the same event. The plan is to take turns. When one driver is up, the other will spot. One thing for sure, these guys will be hustling this weekend.
Local Radio Station KONY came out for a live broadcast from the check in site. Hearing the broadcast on the radio, a bus of local, special ed students came down to see what rock crawling was about. Miss Heidi gave the group 5 weekend passes so they could come out and see the action for themselves.

Caring Mom or aggressive rock crawling Momma? Renee LeBaron does both! With husband Ted LeBaron as spotter this team gets after it in the modified stock class.

Shane Pepper (above) will be driving the Team HBRK Rock crawler in the Trophy class this weekend. Team HBRK is the first Maxxis sponsored Team to compete in the unlimited/trophy class. Check out those new HBRK Beadlocked Wheels. These are the very first set, hot off the press. These new Beadlocked wheels are now in production and will soon be available for about $200 each. That's a full wheel including 24 bolts and rigs for a great low price. www.hbrk4x4.com

Team Waggoner Cody Waggoner brought his Trophy Class rig "Roxanne" out to the event site (Three Peeks Recreation Area) for a little practice Friday afternoon. Cody is currently in the lead and is intent on staying there! In other Team news, pit boss Lindsay is  expecting another team member... in about 7 months! Yes, Lindsey is expecting her first little Cody. Congratulations!
